First Friday Adoration
On the First Friday of the month, St. Louis church is open for Adoration Friday at 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM.
Take a 10 minutes or 10 hours to spend in prayerful silence with the Lord. Bring your favorite spiritual book (books available on the bookcase in the narthex), pray the Rosary, pray silently, and just sit in wonder and awe in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Come as you are. You will be surprised how quickly the time goes by.
During the hours of Adoration, the Blessed Sacrament is not left unattended. If you would like to sign up for an Adoration hour, contact Luann Flowers.

Saint John Paul II says this: "The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic worship". Jesus waits for us in this sacrament of love. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in adoration. Notice how the Holy Father is asking you to be generous with your time. He is not asking for your money but something much more precious – your time.
Why go to confession? Our sin impacts more than our own soul. It impacts the the Church Family. It impacts those around us.

Bishop Thomas proclaimed we all have one task, whether we are mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent, child, Consecrated, Priest, Bishop, Pope...to get one another to heaven through holiness! We are called to be Holy Disciples which, in turn, will create Holy Families and Holy Vocations.
Can we become holy!? How do you become holy? To become holy we are to be Christ-like. We are created to love and serve God. Created in His image and likeness. Bishop Thomas asked that we offer THREE things at least ONCE A WEEK for the intention of holiness for the disciples in the Diocese of Toledo...prayer, fasting, and alms giving. ~Pray the Rosary once a week. As a Diocese, we are, after all, entrusted to Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Rosary. ~Fast once a week. Fasting may mean avoiding desert, not indulging in a favorite food, taking the stairs. Fasting is a sacrificial action. ~Offer charity. Kindness to someone in need. This may be through financial means, offering of your time, or providing for the needs of those without. Thank you, Bishop Thomas, for shepherding the sheep on our journey to holiness! |
Heavenly Father, with the redeeming cross of Christ Jesus your Son, and the gifts of your Holy Spirit, renew and strengthen us, so that by our prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, we may foster Holy Disciples, Holy Families, and Holy Vocations, so as to become a more Holy Diocese of Toledo. We turn to Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, for her intercession and never failing prayers. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. |
